BIOGRAPHY

Jordan Sallis (b. 1996) is a Welsh artist living and working in the South Wales Valleys.

Her practice is rooted in reverence for the natural world. She approaches making as both a creative process and a spiritual act, guided by a deep veneration for land, season, and material.

Working across painting, illustration, mixed media, and installation, she centres organic materials as both subject and medium. She often crafts her own inks, papers, and tools from natural resources, allowing the process of gathering and transforming materials to become integral to the artwork itself. For Sallis, the act of making functions as ritual — an embodied way of uniting belief and matter.

Her work is shaped by the intense emotional states associated with Quiet Borderline Personality Disorder. Creating marks and imagery to visualise these internal experiences is cathartic; her practice operates both as a coping mechanism and as a window into heightened or borderline emotional states. Through the use of organic materials and emotionally charged processes, Sallis explores both the fragility and resilience of the human psyche.
